I specialize in designing meaningful learning experiences for K-12 educators.

I have over 18 years of experience as an elementary school art teacher. I’ve been teaching full time since graduating with a BFA in Studio Art from James Madison University in 2007. I have experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and a wide range of 2-D, 3-D, and digital media. I’m proficient in Google Apps, Google Classroom, Microsoft Office, and Stop Motion Studio.

I’m a driven and dedicated educator. My creative approaches to engage students in artistic learning experiences have been formed through years of practice, reflection, and evolution.

I have always enjoyed instructional design and creating supplemental resources to improve my students’ learning experiences. Teaching elementary art virtually during the 2020-21 pandemic opened new doors to me. I experienced being both a teacher of young students and a learner participating in online professional development. Realizing the potential for educational technology in the elementary art classroom and instructional design in virtual e-courses for art educators like myself, I decided to pursue an M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Educational Technology.
